Some of my users are constantly experiencing Stat Windows Client crashing.
The servers that we are using have a very large bandwidth, but it takes a long time for processing, so we created remote terminals for these users to login.
However, we are noticing most of these crashes occurred while utilizing on their own desktop rather than through remote terminal server.
Perform the following steps on the PC that is constantly experiencing Stat Windows Client crashing:
1. Check the PC in question and disable third party programs such as Antivirus and CISCO security agents and try the action once more.
2. If the OS is Windows XP then try disabling the firewall, especially on Windows XP/SP2. Windows XP/SP2 comes with its own firewall. This needs to be disabled to see if it's the firewall that is causing this problem.
3. Go to a DOS prompt (Start | Run | type cmd and click OK).
- cd to Windows\system 32 directory.
- Execute the following commands:
regsvr32 tx4ole.ocx
regsvr32 Ganttocx.ocx
4. Reinstall Stat Windows client if the above steps do not resolve the problem. Make sure to logon as a user with Local Admin rights or have someone logon as a Local Admin to reinstall the client.
5. Reboot the PC
