The Alarm Actions has a filter condition that can act as inclusive or exclusive.
Part A - Putting in a new script for blocking alert to display database name
1. Go to "Configure Alarm"
2. From the "Factory Setting (Template)" drop down menu choose the SQL Server Instance
3. Look for "Lock - Blocked Processes" and click on the box icon next to it to edit the alarm
4. From alarm options screen, uncheck "Factory Settings"
5. Under severity description, paste over the existing script with the one below which will include the database name in the alarm message:
Session {{KEY_VALUE}} ({{SQLBlockingList.DBName}}) has been blocked by session {{SQLBlockingList.BlockedBySPID}} ({{SQLBlockingList.blockingdatabasename}}) for the last {{value}} seconds.
Part B - Setting up an Alarm Action to send email alerts for the databases that you want
1. Go to "Configure | Alarm Actions"
2. Create a new alarm action and call it anything you want
3. These are the conditions you will need
- The alarm is: Choose "Locks -Blocked Process"
- The connection is: Choose the SQL Server instance with the databases of interest
- The details contain: Put in the name of the database(s) name that you want get email alerts for
4. For the action to take choose "Send email to"
