How to generate a report that shows the average message size and the maximum message size for the (4248135)

Can MessageStats Generate a report that will display the maximum, and average message size for the Exchange Organization?

In order to display this information MessageStats would need to be configured to audit all mailboxes in the Exchange organization.

Note: For Further information on enabling mailbox Auditing please see SOL69410 "How To Enable Mailbox Auditing"

The required Report can then be run from the time Mailbox Auditing is enabled forward. Historic data will not be populated:

1. Open the MessageStats Reports Console
2. Click the File Menu in the toolbar, and select "New | Custom Report"
3. In the Custom report wizard click "Next" on the Welcome Page
4. On the DataSource Selection Screen select "Mailboxes - Mailbox Auditing Messages Received" or "Mailboxes - Mailbox Auditing Messages Sent"
5. Click Next
6. On the Fields Page select MailboxDN, Size (KB), MessageID, MessageDate, and click the Next Button
7. On the Filter Page set filter MessageDate to Match the range of dates you want to use (A larger range is generally better as it can be further filtered using quick filters after the report is run)
8. Click Next
9. On Group Page click Next
10. On Sort Page click Next
11. On Format Page Click "Advanced Summary Calculations"
12. Check Max and Avg boxes next to Message Size (KB)
13. Uncheck "Show Detail Records"
14. ClickMailboxes - Mailbox Auditing Messages
15. Click OK
16. Click Finish
17. Click the File Menu on the MessageStats reports toolbar and select "Save As"
18. Provide a name for your report (This will become the Report Title)
19. Further adjust your date range using the quick filter bar at the bottom of the report if needed.

Your report will now be available from the [My Reports] or [Corporate Reports] Folder on the navigation tree.
