Symptoms:
When browsing a SQL Server APM , under the "all instances node, an error message is generated:
“Failed to get list of Running servers”
This error can occur after a deinstall and reinstall of the client if the authentication was corrected after the SQL Server APM was installed.
1) First check that solution 2343 has been applied (if required)
2) Edit the configuration of the "all instances node"
3) For a (local instance) place the host name of the SQL server in the instance box, not the local instance.
