The following message appears in the FMS management logs:
ERROR [http-0.0.0.0-8095-5] com.quest.glue.common.comms.transport.http.servlet.GlueServletDelegate - Received invalid/badly formatted request from the client at 10.10.XX.XX/10.10.XX.XX. The message will be discarded.
What does it mean and how can it be resolved
It means the FglAM on 10.10.XX.XX is of a version that is incompatible with the FglAM-Adapter version on the FMS.
So the FglAM on 10.10.XX.XX cannot send messages to the FMS.
In some cases when there are network issues it can indicate that the FMS had received some communication from the agent manager however that message wasn’t clear enough to be translated and processed by the FMS and therefore it will be ignored.
If the FMS messages are line up with the timestamps of those network timeouts in the fglam log, - that means that the network connection is dropping while fglam is in the middle of sending a message to the FMS, so the half-received message can't be parsed by the FMS and is discarded as corrupt.
What can be checked to solve the problem:
[1] In the Foglight console under Administration->Cartridge-> Cartridge Inventory Filter by cartridge type-FGLAM and check the versions of the FGLAM components
[2]Check the network connection between the fglam and fms machines - is it reliable?
[3] Is there a proxy, VPN, or firewall involved that may be dropping packets?
