Issue
When migrating a user, we are sometimes prompted to "allow access to the Outlook resource"
This issues occurs every now and then. The migration farm had workstations stops migrating, prompting to allow access. The error seems to be an Outlook issue.
Error Prompt: "A program is trying to access e-mail address information stored in Outlook. If this is unexpected, click deny and verify your antivirus software is up-to-date"
Solution
Outlook will display the "A program is trying to access e-mail address information stored in Outlook..." message if an outside program accesses the Contacts folder if Windows Updates and/or anti-virus is not up to date.
You can disable this prompt by performing the following steps:
Open Outlook client for all migration workstations
Click Tools (or File - Options) - 'Trust Center'
A window will display
Click the 'Programmatic Access' tab
Select the "Never warn me about suspicious activity (not recommended" radio button)
Click 'OK'
Since this is not a recommended action, we suggest this be done just for the migration project. You may decide to change this after the migration project is complete.
