Jobs failing after upgrade to InTrust 11.1 or above with "ADC Package Error: Package state is not consistent" -
Description
After upgrading InTrust servers to 11.1 or above, jobs fail with the status of:
ADC Package Error: Package state is not consistent (0xadc2801)
There may also be errors such as:
Failed to start data provider InTrust User Session tracking (win32 error: 126). -
Cause
The agent configurations have not yet been completed and the package state of the agent is not yet fully updated. Alternatively, if gathering and real-time monitoring are enabled., when the gathering session starts it tries to upgrade the agent while it is already being upgraded by the real-time monitoring server. -
Resolution
For InTrust 11.1
- Ensure the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 (x86) is installed.
- On the InTrust Server, check the InTrust event logs for the last InTrust Monitoring Engine event
- If the last event was from some time ago, restart the Dell InTrust Real-Time Monitoring Server
- Analyze new InTrust Monitoring Engine events to ensure agents are receiving updated configurations over time. This should signify the package completing it's update
- Retry jobs after the agent configuration is confirmed updated in step 4
For InTrust 11.2 or above
- Ensure the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (x86) is installed.
- On the InTrust Server, check the InTrust event logs for the last InTrust Monitoring Engine event
- If the last event was from some time ago, restart the Dell InTrust Real-Time Monitoring Server
- Analyze new InTrust Monitoring Engine events to ensure agents are receiving updated configurations over time. This should signify the package completing it's update
- Retry jobs after the agent configuration is confirmed updated in step 4
