InTrust agent install error, "Cannot start installation ()" -
Description
Attempting to deploy an InTrust 11.2 (or higher) agent to a Windows 2003 Operating System computer via InTrust Deployment Manager results in the following error:
Computer Status = Failed
Status = Cannot start installation ()
Attempting to collect from an InTrust 11.1 (or older) agent on a Windows 2003 Operating System computer via InTrust Deployment Manager results in the following error:
Computer Status = Failed
Status = ADC Error: No such class available (0xadc1004)
There may also be various other errors found in the InTrust event log related to failed attempts to update the agent component configuration on the computer in question such as:"Distributable modules failed to install on agent 'computer.domain.com'. Error text: ADC Error: No such class available (0x8adc1004)."and/or"Component '{993CA140-47E3-44D8-B99F-250F91087D2E}' failed to install on the 'computer.domain.com' agent. Error text: Exception occurred. (Win32 error: 0x80020009)." -
Cause
Windows 2003 Operating System is no longer supported as of InTrust 11.2. -
Resolution
Expected behavior.
In order to continue processing Windows 2003 servers running InTrust 11.1 agents, an InTrust 11.1 server must be deployed/joined to the organization and a Windows 2003 collection created managed by the InTrust 11.1 InTrust server.
