Error: Caught exception while installing the MSI. Error Code: 1603 (4310209)

Installing the Data Governance service remotely results in the below error:

Installation Failed:

The following error occurred during the installation of the Data Governance service:

Caught exception while installing the MSI. Error code: 1603

Resolution 1: Run the below on the remote machine (DGE Server machine).

msiexec /unregister

Resolution 2: Check firewall ports 135, 137, 139 and 445. These dynamic ports should be open between the server running the installer and remote machine (DGE Server).

Resolution 3: Change the registry to disable UAC:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Polices\System\EnableLUA = 0

Resolution 4: Run the installer locally and use the Wizard to connect to the service (SCP will point to the correct server).

Resolution 5: Check if the account running the installer has rights to create SCP entries in the domain.
