Customer had issues getting CIFS share added after password change and CIFS user account permissions.
It appeared that while vRanger was authenticating the user and password, when it went to register in the global manifest it crashed out and failed to add the repository.
We verified authentication and paths/names permissions were correct.
This was found to be corruption of the globalmanifests.metadata file.
Reason Unknown
Rename the globalmanifests.metadata file and try to re-add. As long as the permission rules are correct, you should now be able to add the repository successfully.
Note: This is not a common reason for being unable to add a repository. This was a result of this instance in this case.
