When I am connected to a DB and try to open a Recent File I get error screen saying "Toad for SQL Server has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I debuging it is pointing to Call Stack Location: ntdll.dll!7c90120e and this is what it is pointing to: 7C90120E int 3
I also see Process: [5216] toad.exe and Thread: [4380] Main Thread.
WORKAROUND 1
Reset your Toad application data files.
XP:
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<personal folder>\Local Settings\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for SQL Server <ver>.
Rename this folder and try launching Toad again.
WIN 7:
Go to C:\Users\<personalfolder>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for SQL Server <ver>
WORKAROUND 2
Reinstall Toad after verifying your system requirements.
Reinstalling Toad will automatic check your .NET and DMO requirements.
It could pick up any conflict possible conflict and could give us more direction on what to review in regards to this issue.
WORKAROUND 3
Uninstall and reinstall of .NET.
Uninstall current .NET
Reinstall with the .NET provided at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&DisplayLang=en,
Then uninstalling Toad for SQL Server, and reinstalled Toad again

Use the File | Open from the main menu
