How can a query be run in multiple databases?
When trying to access Tools | Query Multiple Databases, the option is not listed or is grayed out in the toolbar/menu.
SOLUTION 1:
Some features require a connection and will not enable until a connection is made. Please make sure to connect to a database first, then look for the feature in Toad.
SOLUTION 2:
To verify if a feature is included by a registered license key, please go to Help | Licensing and check the "Editions" field and the "Add-Ons" field. Then go to the functionality matrix here to see what functionality is covered or not covered by a license.
In some case the Help (F1) topic will specify this.
SOLUTION 3:
If the feature is supposed to be enabled and covered by the license, and a connection is active in Toad, please check the customization of the toolbar. Right click over the menu bar in Toad | Customize. Look for the tool there, and customize the toolbar by clicking and dragging from the Customization window into the toolbar/menu, and drop the feature in a location you wish to access it from.
For example:
1. Go to the Commands tab
2. Select "Tools" under "Categories"
3. Look for "Query Multiple Databases" under "Commands". If it's not included by the license, it will note "not licensed" and will not display in Toad's toolbar/menu.
4. If needed, click and drag that to the toolbar under Tools. If it's not already there, release the mouse click to drop it into place. \
5. Close the customize window. The tool should now display in the toolbar/menu unless it's not licensed or it gets removed from the toolbar/menu.
