WORKAROUND:
1) Instead of saving data to a .tef file, save it to an Excel file.
2) Use the Connection Manager to connect to the Excel File.
3) Use Tools | Compare | Data Compare to Compare data. The Excel File connected to can be selected as a database during the Compare Wizard.
The error should not be recieved when comparing using the Data Compare Wizard. The Data Compare Wizard also has an "Ignore GUID Columns" option, if needed.
