Lync/Skype Synthetic Transaction Health Test Prerequisites

The following software prerequisites and permissions are required for all the Lync and Skype for Business synthetic tests.

Lync/Skype Test Software Prerequisites

To run the health tests on Lync 2010, Lync 2013, or Skype for Business 2015, ensure the following software prerequisites are met:

•

You must have PowerShell 2.0 or later installed on the UC Diagnostics computer.

•

You must enable Remote PowerShell on each Lync or Skype for Business server.

Permissions Required for Lync/Skype Test Credentials

The test credentials that are used to run the health tests on the Lync 2010, Lync 2013, and Skype for Business 2015 servers must have the following permissions:

•

Member of Local Administrators group -
required to permit PowerShell cmdlets to access Lync or Skype server

•

Member of CsHelpDesk, CSAdministrator, or CSServerAdministrator security group -
required to permit PowerShell cmdlets to run discovery and pool tests.

Creating a test user for the Lync/Skype Environment

Lync/Skype Instant Messaging Health Test

This test allows you to monitor the operation of instant messaging between two test users in a pool.
