There is a patch for this that remedies this issue for Rapid Recovery 6.3 core installations. The patch is P-2528 and can be acquired by contacting support.
The alternative option for doing the restore if need it immediately is to perform a Bare Metal Restore of the VM. Create the VM within Hyper-V outside of RR, and then through the use of our boot cd you perform Bare Metal Restore 'BMR' of the protected machine. You will simply be treating the VM as though it was a physical server and perform the restore.
