Trying to run nvreport or any NetVault executable from CMD or PowerShell returns "Access is denied."
If the executable is tried to run by doing a double-click an error such as the following may be returned:
"This app can't run on your PC
To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher"
Under normal circumstances there are only two expected errors:
Error 1:
Could not connect to NetVault process manager
NetVault may not be running
Problem:
CMD/PS wasn't run as Administrator.
Solution:
Right click the CMD/PS and select Run as Administrator.
Error 2:
Failed to initiate a CLI session on server '<SERVER>' - 'Failed to logon: '
Problem:
Default account password was changed
Solution:
Set the user and password variables before running the executable:
set NETVAULTCLIACCOUNT=default
set NETVAULTCLIPASSWORD=<PASSWORD>
If there're invalid or missing parameters for the executable a help window will display the list of available parameters.
