1) Intra Domain User Migration from Source Forest to Target Forest.
2) Initial Source users are login into the Source Computer(Windows 10) before the migration.
3) After a user Migrated with all the required attributes, Manual UPN cutover(remove from source user and update to Target User) cause the user is sync to Office365.
4) After the Manual UPN cutover, the user login to the Source Client Device(Windows 10) with the 'password only' and the name that display on the login page, a user New Profile are created on the computer.
1) Process workflow is incorrect, Customer does not perform Device Cutover and no Processing is performed before user UPN Cutover is performed manually.
2) User Login with the default username display by entering Password only.
3) Intra-Forest Migration can only be having 1 UPN when users are synced to Office 365; and Modern Desktop always grabbing the info via UPN from PC. Hence after Manual UPN - Cutover Modern Desktop will grab the profile from the Office 365 updated profile. Reference on how device authenticate from Cloud here under section authentication flow.
1) For Intra-Forest Migration and involving Office365, to avoid new Profile Created on the device, A proper plan has to be required including downtime and involvement of Professional Services maybe engage for such Planning and Design. where high level as below
- User migration (all users shall log out) > Device migration > Device processing > User Cutover. ** Please note that this is not under support scope.
2) After Cutover User without device cutover, User Must use Source Domain Netbios as user name to login to maintain as same user profile, sample as below
