User changed the vRanger computer name and now is getting "Could not connect to service. Would you like to attempt to connect again?" error on opening gui.
vRanger is trying to connect to it's database on the old vRanger computer name ie. oldcomputername\vranger
You must run the vRanger Database tool to repoint to the database using the following steps.
Stop the vRanger service.
Click on Start > All Programs > Quest Software > vRanger Backup & Replication > vRanger Database
Click Next, Chose Install/Upgrade on an existing SQL Server 2005/2008 and choose the correct Server
Authentication.
Verify the credentials on the next screen and click on Next.
Review the database credentials and click on Next.
Select yes when you are prompted about an Existing vRangerPro database Click on the Automatic Setup button.
Click Next after the Upgrade process is completed and then click on Finish.
Start the vRanger service
