Directory Connector error when enumerating the Domino Directory, "Unhandled Exception: NullReferenceException" (4347996)

When running the Coexistence Manager for Notes (CMN) Directory Connector wizard, the Source or Target object selection screen is unable to enumerate the Domino Directory.

Error: Unhandled Exception: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Note: This issue may occur in very large Domino environments when the enumeration of the Domino Directory exceeds the default (5 minutes) timeout value within CMN.

With CMN version 3.7.0.29 and later an enhanced has been added with a new parameter to configure the Domino Directory enumeration timeout.

The following steps will guide you through increasing the new timeout parameter:

1. Exit the CMN Management Console.
2. Edit the CMN Directory Connector configuration.xml file.
   • C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Coexistence Manager for Notes\Directory Connector\configuration.xml
3. Set <IgnoreWizardOuCheck> back to false.
4. Locate <QueryOUTimeout>, and set it to 60.
   • <QueryOUTimeout>60</QueryOUTimeout>
5. Save the configuration.xml file.
6. Restart both Directory Connector services.
7. Create a new Directory Connector.

The new timeout value should allow the Directory Connector 60 minutes to enumerate your Domino Directory.
