Message body of email generated Email actions being rejected by remote server (71855)

Emails sent to a remote systems from Foglight are seeing problem with "corrupt" message bodies

Often the situation occurs due to locale issue in non English environments. Foglight sends emails as plain text and even though the mail server defined in the Foglight mail settings stores the emails correctly the remote system it is forwarded on to to cannot for reason interpret the message body.

WORKAROUND 1

- Ensure that the mail server defined in the Foglight mail settings does not have problems with the email - send the email to a user on the mail server and verify it is received successful.

- If the mail server receives the email successfully determine exactly why the remote system is having issues with the message body.

You many need to work with the mail server/remote system vendor to determine the cause of the issue.

WORKAROUND 2

- Instead of an email action define a command action to call a utility such a blat which will send the email. This may resolve the issue
