.NET Agent does not communicate with the Foglight Server after fresh installation of .NET agent on Windows 2k8 64 bit running Foglight version 5.0 and Fog SPID 5.5.0.
.NET service starts up.However,in FLDN Event Log for .NET Agent says "Unable to connect to the remote Server"
The FMS does not recognize the .NET Agent after the fresh installation because the FMS host not configured properly while installation.
Please verify the CatalystAgent.config as described below:
-> Go to c:\program files\quest software\foglight for .net\foglightagent\v#.#.###\Configuration\CatalystAgent.config
Open the config file above in the path and look for this code below.
<configuration>
<appConfig>
<add key="connectionToFoglight" value="_http:<FMSIP>:8080/foglight-xml-adapter/tree-data"/>
</appConfig>
-> Now in the above code look for the IP address defined make sure you have the IP address of the Foglight Server defined and keep all other things same.
-> After you make the change of IP save the file and close it.
-> Now restart the agents both SPID and .NET agents from services.
-> Reboot the .NET Server.
The above step will now display the .NET agent in the FMS agent status.
