Can not receiving emails from Foglight - the email server is blocking the "FROM" address configur -
Description
Foglight emails are not being received at the mailbox. Sending an test email from the command prompt on Foglight Management Server (FMS) machine and that email does come through.The test email sent from command prompt was coming from address 'testuser@ABCDomain.com'Foglight email is configured to send from address of 'otherTestUser'@testDomain.com'When sending a "Test Email" in Foglight, it ends up successfully and the FMS log shows, that it is being sent. -
Resolution
Mail servers are configured to only allow certain "from" domain names through (forwarding) and in this case the mail server was allowingABCDomain.comBut nottestDomain.comThis is done to prevent spam. Change the "mail.from" Foglight registry variable to a "from" address that the mail server will allow. -
Additional Information
Other things to keep in mind:
- make sure emails from Foglight are not ending up in a Junk or Spam folder
