The SQL Server TempDB alarm is based on simple rule"DBSS - TempDB Out of Storage". Foglight reads the lines from the SQL Server error log and if a line contains the needed error message, it will trigger an alarm.
There is no threshold which can be modified as the alarms based on a log file entry.
By default the alarm is categorizes as "Critical", but that can be changed to "Fatal" or "Warning". This change affects only the severity of the alarm. Here the steps to change the severity:
- Go to the Database Overview dashboard
- Select the needed database and click on "Settings | Administration"
- Select "Alarns" and find the rule "DBSS - TempDB Out of Storage"
- Select the tab "Alarm Settings" and click on "Enhance alarm". You will get the below popup to change the severity:
- After it has been change, click on "Set"
- Finally save the changes by clicking the "Save changes" button in the bottom right corner of the dashboard.
