After upgrading Foglight to 5.7.5 a lot of timeout connection issues appear -
Description
After upgrading the Foglight Management Server a lot of timeout connection issues appear. The data collections contain gaps.
Messages like the following appear in the FglAM log:
WARN [Quartz[0]-4492] com.quest.glue.core.remoteconnection.ConnectionRegulator - Timed out (90000 ms) while trying to acquire a permit. Available permits 0 of 100 -
Cause
A connection issue with the Foglight Agent Managers(FglAM) -
Resolution
Please restart the FglAM with the following startup parameters:
- -Dcom.quest.connection.regulator.percentAvailableConnectionsThreshold=5
- -Dcom.quest.connection.regulator.maxActiveConnectionsCap=200
Command to start the FglAM with those parameters only once:
./fglam -Dcom.quest.connection.regulator.percentAvailableConnectionsThreshold=5
-Dcom.quest.connection.regulator.maxActiveConnectionsCap=200To start the FglAM with those parameters permanently please add them to the file $FGLAM/config/baseline.jvmargs.config
- vmparameter.0 = "-Dcom.quest.connection.regulator.percentAvailableConnectionsThreshold=5";
- vmparameter.1 = "-Dcom.quest.connection.regulator.maxActiveConnectionsCap=200";
If the parameters 0 and/or 1 are already in use, please select the next free number, for example vmparameter.5.
STATUS: FAM-6009 added in FglAM 5.8.5 to introduce connection rate limiting
