The processes in the "Top Memory Consumers" view under "Hosts | Memory Details" dashboard are different than the processes in the "Memory: Top Consumers" view under "Infrastructure | Processes" dashboard. Why are the processes different in each of the views? -
Resolution
The Processes dashboard and the Memory Details dashboard are showing the Top processes in different ways.
The "Top Memory Consumers" view under the "Hosts | Memory Details" dashboard orders the processes by highest virtual size for a single process.
The "Memory: Top Consumers" view under the "Infrastructure | Processes" dashboard orders the processes by the highest sum of the average memory for all the processes with the same name. So if there is more than one instance of a process the aggregate average memory value is what is used to determine the order for the processes.
