Can SQL Server and Oracle PI agents share the same SQL Server PI repository database? -
Description
A customer was attempting to use the same SQL Server PI repository database for both SQL Server agents and Oracle agents. After successfully configuring the database for SQL Server, the customer ran the Oracle schema creation script, but when they tried to use the database in Foglight, it threw the following error in a popup.
"Database Foglight_PI does not contain valid SQL PI schema or is not a dedicated database for PI repository."

Cause
Using the same database for both SQL Server and Oracle is not supported. -
Resolution
Performance Investigator (SQL PI) when using a SQL Server based PI repository requires a dedicated database for each domain. -
