Foglight for Oracle 5.9.7.20 release cartridge patch -
Description
Version 5.9.7.20 contains the following new features and updates:
- Supported large batch text size in PI.
Issue ID Resolved Issue FOM-298 Fixed the performance issue caused by PI collections query to view the Oracle SQL Plan. FOM-423 Fixed an issue where the query statement of collecting oracle segment statistics might cause the CPU workload on the monitored DB Server go up to 100%. FOM-744 Fixed an issue when the customers have hundreds of agents, the table records grow very fast and 'registry_registry_value' and 'registry_registry_variable' take more than 1TB. FOM-893 Fixed an issue when users access Manage SQL PI Repository from Databases dashboard, the FMS console might hang. FOM-983 Fixed an issue where enabling PI and testing connection will fail if Oracle single instance agent uses a service name as the connection type while SID onnection is not available for the monitored instance. FOM-1019 Fixed an issue where the DB agent log might print password information as Pa$$word, even if the value has been encrypted. FOM-1052Fixed an issue where on-demand data connections might fail unless more TCP ports are opened. FOM-1169 Fixed an issue after RAC one node failover occurs, the Host Agent is mistakenly unregistered. -
Resolution
Upgrade and Compatibility
A direct upgrade to Foglight for Oracle 5.9.7.20 is only available from version 5.7.5.x or later. Customers that are running 5.7.x of the product must first upgrade to version 5.7.5.x and then upgrade to version 5.9.7.20. A direct upgrade to Foglight for Oracle 5.7.x is only available from version 5.5.8 or later. Customers that are running earlier versions of the product must first upgrade to version 5.5.8 and then upgrade to version 5.7.x.For example, if your Foglight for Oracle is version 5.5.8 and you are going to upgrade to version 5.9.7.20, the upgrade path will be 5.5.8 > 5.7.x > 5.7.5.x (or later) > 5.9.7.20.
Foglight for Oracle 5.9.7.20 requires:
- Management Server version 5.9.2, 5.9.3, 5.9.4, 5.9.5, or 5.9.7
- Agent Manager version 5.9.2, 5.9.3, 5.9.4, 5.9.5, or 5.9.7
To upgrade Foglight for Oracle to version 5.9.7.20:
Use the installer file to upgrade both the Foglight Management Server and the Foglight for Oracle cartridge to version 5.9.7.20.
OR
- Upgrade the Management Server to version 5.9.2 or higher.
- Install version 5.9.7.20 of the cartridge as you would install a new Foglight for Oracle cartridge. Do not delete the older version of the .car file. Install version 5.9.7.20 over the older version.
