The SAP HANA DB agent fails to connect to the monitored database. The Agent logs contains the below error messages,
XXXX-XX-XX XX:XX:XX.XXX ERROR [FglAM:IncomingMessage[5]-37] com.sma.saphana.agent.SAPHANAAgentImpl - Error starting data collection.
com.sap.db.jdbc.exceptions.SQLInvalidAuthorizationSpecExceptionSapDB: [10]: authentication failed
XXXX-XX-XX XX:XX:XX.XXX ERROR [FglAM:IncomingMessage[5]-37] com.sma.saphana.agent.SAPHANAAgentImpl - Error starting data collection.
com.sap.db.jdbc.exceptions.JDBCDriverException: SAP_DBTech_JDBC: [414]: user is forced to change password: alter password required for user FOGLIGHT
(FOGLIGHT can be a different value in the error above)
The Credential was not created in the SYSTEMDB instead on the Tenant DB.
This message means the user needs to update the password himself.
Foglight for SAP HANA DB agent requires a connection to the SYSTEMDB database to gather many system properties and metrics.
Please ensure the credentials are created on the SYSTEMDB database.
On the SAP HANA command prompt, run the below command to test the SYSTEMDB connection:
hdbsql -i instance_number -d SYSTEMDB -u username
Note: please replace the instance_number and the username fields with the appropriate data
Enter the password when prompted
Once connected you should see the SYSTEMDB prompt.
Run this statement on the prompt:
ALTER USER foglight DISABLE PASSWORD LIFETIME;
