Metric History under VMWare Administration is stuck at 0% and Last Updated never set to Finsihed -
Description
After upgrading to a newer VMWare cartridge, the Metric History under Administration is stuck at 0%. -
Resolution
The history collection only runs when an agent is first created and collects 30 days of historic data. It should show 100% within a few hours - depending on the size of the environment.
The 100% value should not change after the agent upgrade.
To manually update it to 100% complete, run the attached groovy scripts - but first edit it to have the correct agent name.- Go to Administration | Tooling | Script Console | Scripts tab | Add
- Paste the contents of set_historical_data_completed.groovy into the "Enter Script Text" field and update the agentname
- Click Run
- Go back into Script Console and paste contents of script set_historical_Status_finshed.groovy and update the agentname
- Click Run
- Navigate to VMware Environment Dashboard | Administration tab
- Verify that metric History is now 100% and Finished for the agent in question
- Disable (set to 0) the Historic Data Resume Collection frequency in the VMware agent's collection schedule. To do this, please follow WORKAROUND 2 in KB Article 91910
