After upgrade from v6.5.1 to v6.6 & creating agents through FglAM based method some VM's are missing all 4 metrics ( CPU, memory, disk, network ) and some VM's are missing just the disk information.
No changes were made to the environment or VC, it was just the vFoglight server that was upgraded from v6.5.1 to v6.6. Investigating an example VM with missing performance data, VMware tools are installed & the Perfromance (Overview & advanced) metrics are updated.
The ESX hosts/VCs were under load during the time frame where the VMs are missing performance data. ESX servers are under load provides more evidence of this.
While the VMware Performance Agent requests the metrics from a given VC, the ESX Server actually fulfills those requests. Device metrics are considered lower priority than other performance metrics, so when under load, device metric requests may be skipped or aborted by the ESX.
