What method is a Unix based fglam using to resolve the FMS hostname that it is configured to point to?
Specifically, FglAM uses the the Java InetAddress.getByName() and InetAddress.getAllByName() methods. The Java VM is responsible for providing an actual native implementation of these methods. This eventually boils down to the gethostbyname(3) or getaddrinfo() system call. The Java VMs we use for Windows and Solaris are provided by Oracle (Sun) and both end up using the system call gethostbyname() for IPv4 addresses and getaddrinfo() for IPv6 addresses to resolve host names for the InetAddress class.
If this is being prevented for some reason in your environment, you can change the \fglam_home\state\default\config\fglam.config.xml file to cause the fglam point to the FMS' IP Address. For that procedure, see:
