In vFoglight Storage, when I try to install the SAM (Storage Agent Master) it says I do not have .net 3.5. sp1 installed even though I do.
When vFoglight storage installs the SAM it looks for the Windows Directory. On older systems this folder is called WINNT. This causes the checker to fail to find the .NET installation.
This is a known defect in vFoglight Storage caused by a bug referenced by Quest Tracking ID VFGLS-570.
WORKAROUND #1:
1) Create a windows directory on the root of the C: drive.
2) Copy (do not move) the .NET folder in the WINNT directory to the Windows directory.
3) This will allow the perquisite checker to pass this check and proceed with the install.
Defect request VFGLS-570 has been submitted to Development for a fix in a future release. Please check the release notes of latest software to determine which bug fixes have been included in this release.
If Workaround 1 does not work, see Workaround 2.
WORKAROUND #2:
Ensure the OS (Operating System), where the FglAM is installed, is en-us. If it is anything different than this, the same will be experienced, regardless of whether or not WORKAROUND 1 has been followed. This has been logged as product defect VFGLS-682 and is scheduled to be fixed in the next version of the Storage cartridge. However, this is subject to change. Please check the release notes of latest software to determine which bug fixes have been included in this release.
