After replacing the existing OS agents with the new IC agent on Linux, it does not collect any metrics for the NFS mounted filesystems.
There are no errors in the agent log and no agent properties that can be changed, to specify that metrics will be collected.
For the IC agent, if it looks like a local disk, the agent should be able to see it and get metrics for it.
Foglight explicitly do not collect metrics for remotely mounted disks (like NFS mounts). For Linux, this means that the disk must show up in /proc/diskstats (or the output of "/bin/df -P -l") and must not be mounted read-only (like a DVD) for Foglight to consider it a local disk that we should collect metrics for.
STATUS: Enhancement request IC-1124 "Allow basic data collection from remotely mounted disks" was released in the IC 5.8.1 cartridge and requires FMS 5.7.1 and FglAm 5.8.1. This addresses remotely mounted file systems such as (for Unix) NFS, SMB, FuSE and (for Windows) shares).
STATUS: IC-2670 "Investigate whether disk I/O metrics can be collected for remotely mounted disks" remains open as of 5.8.5.2 IC cartridge.
WORKAROUND: None.
