VMware Performance Agent is in a 'Broken' state (4238906)

VMware Performance Agent is in a 'Broken' state. Attempting to restart the agent either fails, or the activate & start data collection buttons are not available to be clicked.

Agent package needs to be re-deployed

WORKAROUND 1:

Re-deploy the VMware Performance Agent Package by carrying out the following procedure:

1. Go to dashboard: Administration | Agents | Agent Hosts
2. Select the appropriate Agent Host (FglAM) in the drop down list
3. Deploy agent package

WORKAROUND 2:

If the above workaround does not help to resolve this issue, a new VMware performance agent should be created.

1. Go to dashboard: Administration | Agents | Agent Hosts or Administration | Agents | Agent Status
2. Click 'Create Agent'
3. Select the FglAM Host, select Agent Type VMwarePerformance and enter the Instance Name
4. Click 'Create'
5. Edit the properties of this new agent by selecting Edit Properties
6. Enter the properties exactly as they are in the VMware agent that is not able to collect data (this is case sensitive so the information that is entered must be identical between these two agents)
7. Save the changes
8. Activate the agent and wait for the agent to start collecting VMware data
