When I compare vFoglight Storage to my vCenter and Array, vFoglight Storage does not show recent changes made to the vCenter or the Array. I have added VMs and LUNS today that are not shown in vFoglight Storage. All the devices are a color (not Gray) and seem to be reporting.
vFoglight Storage only updates its topology database once every 24 hours. Any changes made to any of the devices vFoglight Storage is collecting from will not be reflected in vFoglight Storage until after a topology collection.
Resolution 1
Force a topology collection.
1) In vFoglight Storage, open the Data Collection menu and select Data Collection Setup.
2) On each of the devices that are not reflecting current information:
a) Select the device and click “Collect Once”. This will force a topology collection.
In a few minutes be sure to check to see if there is a current timestamp in the Last Run column to the right of the Topo? Column.
vFoglight Storage version 1.6.1
