If you are starting from a version of vFoglight Storage that is below 1.6.0 the installer will tell you the upgrade was successful. When you run vFoglight Storage the databases will not be able to connect and the application will not function correctly.
When you try to select the Data Collection Menu, an error message of, “no connection with the collector" is returned.
This is a known defect in vFoglight Storage caused by a bug referenced by Quest Tracking ID 1231.
Workaround 1:
Upgrade to version 1.6.0 then upgrade to 1.6.1.
Defect request 1231 has been submitted to Development for a fix in a future release. Please check the release notes of latest software to determine which bug fixes have been included in this release.
