We want to add more storage and data retention time to Foglight Experience Viewer (FxV) by using external Storage Area Network (SAN).
We found the section Connecting the SAN to the Server/Storage (or Storage) in the Installation and Administration Guide. And this section below in Features and Capabilities:
Practically unlimited storage capacity (by adding appliances or SAN):
...Beyond just aggregating appliances, a Foglight Experience Viewer can be connected to a local SAN for storage of up to 30 TB per appliance host, which is much more cost effective for customers needing more than 10 TB of history. More than one Foglight Experience Viewer can be configured with a SAN connection, allowing the total capture database size to exceed 100 TB.
We found this too:
Configuring a Storage Appliance:
Foglight Experience Viewer (running version 5.0.2b or later) can use an external SAN, connected to the appliance via a certified QLogic HBA card. A Storage appliance can also be configured without a SAN, for use with the Analysis Repository. To configure a Storage appliance used in an end user configuration, you need the latest storage hotfix file. This file was not available at the time of releasing this document. For obtaining the storage hotfix file and installation instructions, contact Quest Support
Any more details onusing anexternal SAN than is available in the documentation?
