Many customer environments are more volatile than others so hourly data is more effective for triggering alarms then daily values. Other customers have less variable data and the daily values work better.
Currently some customers can't really use Absolute or Historical values to trigger their alarms.Enhancement Request to add a drop down Alarm definition Threshold for Historical triggers. Customer would like a drop down to select which baseline to use.

Other industry software is using a 15 min. running average for their historical alarms, 5 min. baseline might be too volatile to be of much use.
