Slowness in Migration from SP2013 to SPO using Essentials for Office 365
Description
It took 16-hours to migrate, a 6GB site migration via Essentials for Office 365 from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online environment where Content Matrix perform faster.
Cause
This is because Essentials For Office 365 uses CSOMapi which is different from Content Matrix; Essentials For Office uses CSOM connection for Source SP2013 connection.
It is recommended to configure OAuth for Essentials for Office 365 to improve migration performance.
Resolution
Please choose Synchronous mode in Essentials For Office 365 (Help | Profile Manager| General | Azure Migration Mode
It is also strongly recommended to configure OAuth for Essentials for Office 365 to improve migration performance.
