Product Licensing

When you launch Toad Data Point you will be asked to sign in.

To sign in with a Quest account

  1. Enter your business email address registered with Quest into Email and enter your Quest password into Password
  2. Click Sign In to start working with Toad Data Point

To register a new Quest account

  1. If you do not have a Quest account yet, click Sign up for a new account
  2. Enter your first and last names, business email, password and select your country or region
  3. Click Sign Up to start working with Toad Data Point. Toad Data Point launches with a new Trial license

To activate a purchased commercial license

  1. Click your username in the top right corner of Toad Data Point and click Manage Licenses
  2. In the Licensing dialog, enter your license (Authorization) key
  3. Enter the site message included with the license key

To manage Toad licenses

  1. Click your username in the top right corner of Toad Data Point and click Manage Licenses
  2. In the Licensing dialog, click Manage All Toad Licenses
  3. Enter your username and password and click Sign in

Online authentication

Toad requires you to perform online authentication by signing in to your Quest account at least once per every 30 days. If you are signed in to your account and Toad is able to reach the authentication servers, the process is done automatically on each application launch.

At times, the authentication may not be performed for various reasons, e.g. firewall settings, lack of internet connection. In such cases, the following situations may occur:

Toad has been installed, but has not been authenticated yet

  • You are asked to sign in to your Quest account in order to authenticate the application for the first time and use it

Toad cannot reach authentication servers. It has been less than 30 days since the last authentication

  • A warning dialog is displayed. You still can access the application up until the 30 day mark

Toad cannot reach authentication servers. It has been at least 30 days since the last authentication

  • A warning dialog is displayed. You cannot access the application until you sign in to your Quest account
