Welcome to Foglight for SQL Server

Foglight® for SQL Server allows database administrators (DBAs) to quickly and efficiently identify performance deviations, determine their root cause, perform comprehensive analyses, and resolve performance bottlenecks. This product provides web-enabled dashboards for centralized visibility, management and health checks for the SQL Server instances deployed in your environment, as well as proactive alerting and alarm workflows for tracking your responses to critical performance anomalies.

Foglight for SQL Server is an n-tier application, which leverages a web-based user interface to ensure having complete visibility into the SQL Server infrastructure wherever an Internet connection is available.

These Release Notes cover the resolved issues, known issues, workarounds and other important information about release of Foglight for SQL Server. Review all sections before starting installation.

New in this release

Version 6.1 of Foglight for SQL Server contains the following new features and updates:

Added an option for mass deployments to modify SQL Server CLI to read passwords from a registry variable


Fixed alarm 'DBSS - Unable to check backup media' fires incorrectly


Fixed the stacking area char always stops about 30% of the way into the x axis


Enhanced the "CXPACKET" wait time calculation only for the master thread


Fixed issue of Azure Managed Instance raise false Last Backup alarms


Added ability to use "multisubnetfailover" option for multi-subnet AlwaysOn availability groups connection


Fixed issue with adding OS monitoring for SQL Server cluster


Fixed issue of SQL Server User Defined Collection Not Showing Up


Fixed DBSSFileProcessor processor of DBSS_File collection failed to run


Fixed issue of SQL Server User Defined Collection Not Showing Up


Automatically WinRM/DCOM connection recovery


Fixed Volume Shadow Copies (VSS) were counted as valid database backups


Resolve canonical hostname (FQDN) when establishing a WinRM connection during addition of OS monitoring for SQL Server cluster
