1. Go to
https://console.cloud.google.com/ and create a new project.
2. Under the project, create a new bucket under Cloud Storage. (Require to enable billing). The name needs to be globally unique. Choose the options for Region, Storage Class, Control Access to Objects, and Protection tools. (Depending on your selection, it will be the cost).
3. Go to the Bucket settings and under the tab INTEROPERABILITY, hit the option
SET {PROJECT_NAME} AS DEFAULT PROJECT and copy the Access Key and Secret which are below under the same section.
4. Go to Configure under General Information/Cloud Tier on the QorStor dashboard.
5. Set the Cloud Provider as Google S3, enter your bucket name, Access Key, Secret Key, and Region, and under Endpoint enter, https://storage.googleapis.com as the last step creates the Passphrase for the Cloud Tier encryption.
Optionally, the Cloud Tier can be configured using the CLI by opening an SSH session with the root user (or a sudoer) and running this command:
> sudo /opt/qorestor/bin/cloud_tier --add --cloud_provider Google-S3 --cloud_container <bucket_name>
Next, it promps to enter the connection string in secret mode using this format:
"accesskey= ;secretkey= ;region=;endpoint=https://storage.googleapis.com; and just fill in your keys and region. Finally, create the passphrase with this command:
> sudo /opt/qorestor/bin/cloud_tier --setpassphrase
6. Enable the cloud tier policy on the desired containers by clicking on the three dots icon located at the top right corner of each container and selecting Enable Cloud Tiering Policy.
