Tape drive not seen when adding library
When using adding library to manually add new tape library to NetVault the library is visible in library selection but drive not seen in drive selection. Trace shows “Failed to open '\\.\Tape0' (32)” . 32 means sharing violation which indicates that another process has control of the Tape0 driver.

Remove backup software locking the Tape0 driver.
On this occasion the backup software was Trilead but it could have been other backup software such as Symantec backup exec this could have been caused by windows service removable storage manager in which case disabling the service would have resolved the problem.
