NVBU logs show multiple error messages as follows:
“Failed to remove items from device 'SmartDisk - xxxxx' : 'Unspecified failure'” .
However backups to SmartDisk complete successfully and this does not seem to affect SmartDisk or NVBU.
As backups expire in NVBU, requests are sent to SmartDisk to delete them. These NVBU delete requests are sent in batches and SmartDisk can only accept and treat one batch at a time.
This message is not significant of a problem and can be safely ignored.
If a delete request has not been confirmed by SmartDisk, NVBU will keep resending it until completion.
Improvement Request Bug 5106 has been logged with R&D to have the level of logging for these messages decreased or changed to informational messages.
This will be evaluted for implementation in a future version of NVBU and SmartDisk.
