When trying to add users to collections they may not appear and the Mage log has the following error:2018-10-30 00:00:14.1712 Px3AE0 TxC A12 C- M- Info Mailbox NAME='First Name, LastName',LEDN='/o=COMPANYX/ou=MIDLAND/cn=Recipients/cn=COMPANYX Users/cn=User Accounts/cn=C0012045'(ID='2146') was not added to collection 'SALES USERS'(ID='445') from Group/OU 'GLO:AD GROUP SRC (ID='261'), because this mailbox is already queued for processing through Group/OU 'GLO:AD GROUPSRC 2 '(ID='25'), collection 'V9-SNF-Batch18E7922BD4-B1FA-4A44-9D4F-09A824D10D29'(ID='95').
This can happen if the User is a member of another collection. The easy fix is to remove the user from the alternate collection, but what if that collection does not exist in then console? This can be caused by removing the agent and then removing a collection or removing a collection while an agent is disabled or stopped. The product relies on the running agent being able to update the SQL database with additions, deletions and moves between collections. Should the agent no longer be able to update the SQL database, these users are essentially orphaned and cannot be processed or the above error is produced.
Deleted collections are still referenced in the Database and can have the deleted status reversed essentially bringing back the deleted collection. They can then be attached to any agent that is started and functional. Then we can remove the users and delete the collection gracefully, updating the SQL database and freeing the orphans to be added to another collection.
