When deploying Windows Cumulative Updates (CUs)—such as 2026-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11, version 24H2 (KB5094126)—administrators may observe that endpoints undergo multiple, additional reboots during installation.
This will cause the device(s) to end the Patch Schedule with error(agent disconnected)
After a device reboot from a patch deployment, the agent will reconnect as expected and continue its patch deployment tasks, however in some cases a Windows update might require additional restarts launched by TrustedInstaller.exe to finalize applying the update. This behavior can cause the agent to disconnect and fail to upload the patch results due to the unexpected restart initiated by the Operating System.
This can be verified on device's Event Logs.

This behavior is expected and does not indicate a failure in the agent or deployment process.
