Most UNIX shops do not have an X-Windows interface to run the FMS installer in GUI mode. Since one is relegated to the -i console mode, the option to provide Observation Tablespaces for an Oracle repository is not presented.

WORKAROUND: Use a Windows desktop or laptop to run the FMS Windows installer. Define your Observation Tablespaces and select Create Database Later. Complete this temporary install and then use the 4 SQL scripts as shown in the GUI installer to create your database.

Also copy the $FGLHOME/config/storage-config.xml file to your UNIX FMS installation.
