In a Multi-Forest Configuration, an administrator observed, alerts being sent from Coordination(s) in a different Forest where SMTP access is not available.
Inherent fault tolerance allows alerts to be sent from any Coordinator in a Multi-Forest/Coordinator installation.
It is currently not possible to target specific Coordinators when configuring alerts. However, it is possible to disable specific coordinators from handling this task.
To disable a coordinator from attempt to handle alert notifications perform the following steps:
The default value is 0 which means all other Coordinators that does not have this registry value or has it set to 0 will continue to process alerts.
4.Restart the Coordinator service for the changes to take effect,
