The Coordinator statistics in the CA Client queries the [System].AgentStatus table of the CA database to get the agents with a "Connected" status for each Coordiantor.
The Coordinator Status window does not query the database to get connected agents. If relies on the Coordinator performance counters. "Agents Connected" is determined by the how many agent WCF connections there are to the coordinator.
Following Enhancement Request was created:
Product Backlog Item 205480: As a CA Administrator, I would like the Agents Connected value in the Coordinator Status to more accurately display the number connected agents in environments with network disconnects
Since the Coordinator Status relying of WMI connections to determine the number of connected agents has not changed since 6.x, we will not be implementing Product Backlog Item 205480. The best approach for the customer would be to use the interface (Coordinator|Statistics or Coordinator Status) that provides the them their preferred method of determining connected agents.
