When clicking on the Start Archive Migration button in the Self-Service Archive Migrator email link to initiate the migration process on a workstation, an error is reported that the migration server cannot be contacted.
Error: We are unable to reach the migration server to start your archive migration at this time. Your administrator has been notified, and you will receive a notification to restart the migration once the issue has been resolved."
Additionally the person entry in the SSAM Notes Database (nsf) will show a status of License Server Unavailable
This condition is expected and will occur if the SSAM application on the end user workstation cannot contact the license controller server for SSAM. This being the server that the SSAM administration application was installed on.
The SSAM application on the end user workstation does require access to the license server in order to obtain keys for migrating the archive nsf files on the end user workstation.This does require network connectivity to the license server IIS system though a HTTP connection using the workstation default browser configuration.
Verify that there is not a proxy configured for the workstation default browser or if there is a proxy that the browser has an exclusion for the license server address.
Verify that any local firewall applications are not preventing network access over HTTP (port 80) to the license server.
For .net 4.5.2 or higher on a Windows server 2016, verify that HTTP activation is enabled.
